World's Fair Park Performance and Festival lawns

(Festival on the 4th is a free, family-friendly event including activities like water wars, ax-throwing, mini-golf games and paddle boats. Food vendors will be located on both lawns.The free festival begins at 5 p.m. and ends at approximately 10 p.m. at the conclusion of the fireworks display. This event is RAIN OR SHINE.)

The Knoxville Chapters of the Sons of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Revolution and Children of the Revolution honor the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Town of Farragut Independence Day Parade.

When? Thursday, July 4 (9:30am)

Where? Starts at Kingston Pike at Stadium Drive

How Much? Free 

The Town of Farragut’s annual Independence Day Parade returns at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 4. The parade begins on Kingston Pike at Stadium Drive and continues to Boring Road, just east of Farragut Towne Square Shopping Center (former Ingles store site).

Due to the Independence Day Parade, Kingston Pike from Lendon Welch Way to Federal Boulevard will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to approximately noon on Tuesday, July 4. Options for parade detours are as follows: North side - Campbell Station Road to Grigsby Chapel Road to Smith Road to Kingston Pike (going west) or Campbell Station Road to Parkside Drive to Lovell Road (going east). Southside - Concord Road to Turkey Creek Road to Virtue Road to Kingston Pike.

Also, S. Campbell Station Road from Kingston Pike to Brooklawn Boulevard and Municipal Center Drive will be closed from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. for the Farragut Freedom Run.

This year's Grand Marshals are Marianne McGill, Joyce Moran and Dot LaMarche.

Independence Day Celebration and Anvil Shoot

While most Americans celebrate Independence Day with fireworks, the Museum of Appalachia marks the occasion with an old- fashioned “anvil shoot”. Every 4th of July, the Museum uses gunpowder to launch a 200-pound anvil hundreds of feet into the air! 

Anvil shoots were once a common way for pioneers to commemorate holidays, elections, and other special occasions. While the tradition of anvil-shooting is nearly obsolete, the Museum has made it a nearly 30-year tradition, striving to keep this piece of history alive for a 21st century audience. 

The anvil shoot is the centerpiece of an all-day celebration that includes a national bell-ringing ceremony, flag procession, live music, southern food, demonstrations from blacksmiths, beekeepers, dulcimer makers, spinners, weavers, rail splitters, and more. 

Event Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. with anvil shoots occurring throughout the day.

Fourth of July on Mabry's Hill

The festivities will include hot dogs, snow cones and face painting. The live music will begin at 7:30 p.m. The fireworks show will begin at dark.

OAK RIDGE COMMUNITY BAND INDEPENDENCE DAY CONCERT followed by City Fireworks Show

Thursday, July 4, the OAK RIDGE COMMUNITY BAND INDEPENDENCE DAY CONCERT followed by City Fireworks Show @ A.K. Bissell Park, 1403 Oak Ridge Turnpike
Time:  7:30 p.m.
FREE admission

Featuring the 80th anniversary of the Oak Ridge Community Band’s first concert on July 4, 1944, the band will perform patriotic songs, marches, swing, contemporary, excerpts from “1812 Overture,” and more.  Bring chairs or blankets for outdoor seating and come early because this event usually attracts a large crowd to hear the music and to see the fireworks.

Pigeon Forge Patriot Festival

All activities are free and open to the public, and are sure to be enjoyed by the entire family! You will find plenty of family friendly activities and games throughout the afternoon and evening and of course that amazing 4th of July fireworks show to conclude the Pigeon Forge Patriot Festival 2024.

What To Bring:

Bring a seat and stay a while. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome. Delicious food vendors with burgers, franks, and more will also be in attendance.

What To Leave At Home:

Umbrellas and coolers are not permitted, so please leave those behind.
